Rivendell Awarded Grant to Fund Parent Writers

by Kate Parrish on March 23rd, 2017

Confetti Thank You

Someone buy us a cake because you are looking at one of the latest awardees of a Sustainable Arts Foundation grant! We are thrilled to receive this award from an organization that believes in supporting writers as much as we do, specifically writers who are also raising families.

Moms and dads, we know it’s not always (okay, never) easy to make time for your writing when you’ve got mouths to feed, homework to help with, and after school schedules to navigate. So that’s where SAF and Rivendell come in.

With our 2017 Residency Grant, Rivendell is now able to provide FOUR, TWO-WEEK RESIDENCIES to writers with a child or children age 12 or younger.

Will it be hard to get away for two weeks? Most likely. But will your kiddos survive while you finish the novel you started before they were born? Our Magic 8-Ball says, “It is decidedly so.” (Just imagine the uninterrupted sleep…)

Residencies are available September-December 2017.
>> Application period is April 1-May 31 <<
