Friends of Rivendell

We are proud to collaborate with the exceptional literary programs offered by the University of the South.

Sewanee Review — The oldest continuously published literary quarterly in the nation.

Sewanee School of Letters — An innovative summers-only Master’s Degree program offering the MA in English and MFA in Creative Writing.

Sewanee Writers’ Conference — A literary conference that takes place every July in Sewanee, TN, on the campus of The University of the South.

We also support the following publications, nonprofits, and businesses that encourage and contribute to the literary life and Southern culture.

Parnassus Books — Nashville’s independent, local bookseller co-owned by bestselling author, Ann Patchett, and publishing veteran, Karen Hayes.

The Porch Writers’ Collective — Nashville’s only center for writing, The Porch aims to inspire, educate, and connect writers of all ages through classes, youth outreach programs, and events.

Southern Foodways Alliance — Documenting, studying, and celebrating the diverse food cultures of the changing American South.
